About Us
In 2022 we began offering vegetation management services on utility-scale solar projects in Southern Alberta. Since then we have managed thousands of acres of solar vegetation. We are based in Southern Alberta but offer our vegetation services throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan. From initial site establishment to on-going maintenance, we offer ground prep, seeding, spraying and mowing services. We also work closely with our partners to offer a wide range of agrivoltaic services for the solar industry. We operate specialized equipment, allowing us to work safely and efficiently on any site design. Our team has experience working between tilting and fixed panels, with above and below ground cables, and on sites with narrow row spacing. We offer night-time operations to ensure no disruptions to the sites energy production. Fescue Management is fully insured and offers dependable, professional, and safe solutions for your solar vegetation management needs.

Mowing
Fescue Management specializes in mowing service for your entire site. Large or small, our professional team will make sure the area is mowed efficiently and safely. We ensure panel rows are mowed to the screw piles, and that fence lines, buildings and inverters are clear of debris. We mow outside of the fenced boundary up to adjacent property lines for a clean uniform look of the entire site. We also pull way and mulch tumbleweeds built up along the fence lines and gates.

Spraying
Fescue Management offers herbicide spraying services to reduce the spread of noxious/nuisance weeds throughout the site and to adjacent lands. We spray: roadways and fence lines, around buildings, inverters and between panel rows. We use chemical mixes that target weeds specific to your site and target problem areas for ongoing control. Our team is certified and trained in industrial pesticide applications, operating carefully to ensure excellent results.

Grass Seeding
Fescue Management offers the seeding of solar sites using drone, ground broadcast and drill seeding. We can offer our own custom seed mixes or work with the land owners, environmental contractors and site owners to develop a site specific mix.

Snow Removal
Fescue Management offers timely and efficient snow removal, ensuring uninterrupted access to important infrastructure for maintenance and repairs. We offer priority route snow removal services, ensuring access to critical infrastructure even during large snowfall events.

Tall dry matter can become the fuel for a costly fire on a solar site. With thousands of electrical connections, the risk of fire is extremely high. Through regular mowing of a site the dry vegetation is controlled and this risk is significantly reduced.

Tall vegetation can shade the panels and reduce energy production. Through regular mowing, we eliminate energy losses from the vegetation allowing the site to operate efficiently.
Prevent the Spread of Weeds
Many noxious and nuisance weeds are found on solar sites, if they are left to mature and spread they can cause issues to adjacent agricultural lands, natural areas, wetlands etc. Through proper vegetation management, using mowing and targeted herbicide applications, these weeds can be controlled and their spread greatly reduced.
